EXCHANGING POINTS OF VIEW TO CREATE NEW DIRECTIONS
An International Concertation brings together weavers' spokesmen and style bureaux to gather and exchange data about the trends which will be significant in the coming season.
The two high points of the International Concertation :
Impulsion : the season's colour and fibre trends.
Eighteen months ahead of the shop windows, the Première Vision Fashion Department analyses the work done by the International Concertation, and comes up with the season's Colour Impulse and fibre trends, producing a colour chart and the spirit of the season. All this is shown exclusively on a preview basis to weaver exhibitors, who thus make the most of directions to be taken which are in tune with market realities.
Focalisation : Combining the choices of International weavers.
A few weeks before the Salon, a two-day meeting of International weavers' representatives, organized by the Première Vision Fashion Department, puts its seal of approval on the main thrust of research for their collections, with a view to presenting their fabrics at the Salon forums.
Target : To choose a colour for its strength, an idea for its meaning, and a fabric for its fibre.
The Creativity of weavers whose work is on display twice a year at the Salon is the outcome of much lengthy hard work undertaken during the Première Vision Concertation.
These high points which occur in the months leading up to each Salon help those in the trade to dovetail their points of view and reach unanimous agreements about the season's directions.
Well before the Salon opens, and based on forecasts made by the Observatory, the Première Vision Fashion Department applies a lighting which involves making sense of everything being heard, seen, done and analysed the world over, the better to foster textile research and innovation.
